Course Information
Description Continuation of Commercial Music Theory I. Emphasizes harmonic and melodic analysis, extended chord theory, and modal and altered scales. Learn to compose melodies using standard song forms; harmonize melodies using chords appropriate to assigned musical style; and analyze selected pieces from lead sheets and arranged concept key scores
Prerequisites MUSC 1213 and MUSC 1211

Attendance Policy Research has shown a cause and effect relationship between attendance and college success.

You will receive one free absence before your absences start to count against your grade in the attendance category. After that, EACH UNEXCUSED ABSENCE DEDUCTS 10% OF YOUR ATTENDANCE GRADE. Three lates/early departures = one absence.

Students must contact instructor with reason for absence by email prior to absence in order to receive an excused absence. Excused absences must meet the following criteria: death in the family, medical related emergency, illness. Any cause beyond this will be left up to instructor discretion.
Academic Honesty Academic honesty is expected from all students, and dishonesty in any form will not be tolerated. Please consult the LSC-PA policies (Section IX, subsection A, in the Faculty Handbook) for consequences of academic dishonesty.
